Recipes From My Kitchen

Welcome!  Thank you for including me on your journey to health and wellness.

Here you will find a compilation of recipes that I have worked on with a focus on wholesome, readily-available ingredients.  

 

Based on my health needs and my own struggle with weight and family history of metabolic issues, I do my best to stick to a low carbohydrate/high fat lifestyle (with the occasional indulgence of course- what is life without that?!).  

​

For personal reasons, I have made a choice to be vegetarian, which makes this lifestyle a little more challenging- but it has given me a chance to include the right kind of carbs (i.e. unrefined) into my diet and to be creative as well!

​

Like many of you, when I started cooking, I found it to be a daunting task.  From what to eat, to what groceries to buy, and the dreaded age old question that makes me cringe- "What's for dinner?"

​

Being far away from my mom (who is an excellent cook!), I was forced to learn how to cook, but also in the process, I found my passion for nutrition.  I firmly believe in the saying "We are what we eat." 

​

So, I hope you will find this information useful as you make the transition to optimize your health.

I will include non-vegetarian (recipes denoted by NV) options and offer vegetarian (denoted by V) substitutions as well.  I will plan to add a new recipe every week and will share it on my blog. So, please subscribe and you won't miss one!
